#1A heavyset man of few words in an apron, slippers and round glasses, Sakamoto runs a convenience store with his family and keeps calm even with a billion-yen bounty on his head.
#2Dressed like a funeral guest under a sheer veil, Osaragi is a deadpan Order member who unfolds a giant buzzsaw from a plain-looking suitcase and compares people to animals.
#3Sakamoto's ever-smiling old friend and an elite Order assassin, Nagumo copies anyone's face in an instant and lets a dice roll pick which blade of his six-function knife to use.
#4Easygoing even in a massacre, Gaku swings a spiked mace for Slur, treats killing like a video game and once steered a JCC applicant by remote while snacking.
#5The Order's frail-looking elder, Takamura mutters to himself, leans on his katana like a cane and draws it so fast that a passing fly can cost a car its roof.
#6Sent to bring his old mentor Sakamoto back to the JAA or kill him, the mind-reading hitman Shin loses the fight and ends up wearing the store's green apron instead.
#7Calm, cold-eyed and white-haired, Slur is the serial killer hunting assassins across Japan, marking each scene with a large X in his victims' blood as he plots to topple the JAA.
#8The hunted daughter of a Triad family, Lu trades fresh pork buns for Sakamoto's help, becomes his store clerk and fights with tai chi, growing fearsome after gulping pure alcohol.
#9Often paired with Osaragi on Order missions, the aloof, long-haired Shishiba wears sharp suits, fights with twin claw hammers and flies into a rage over onions.
#10Idolized by her niece Akira, Rion appears in flashbacks as Sakamoto and Nagumo's JCC classmate, a gifted markswoman who outshot both of them at the range and likened guns to cars.
#11A lackadaisical lab employee sent to kidnap Shin, Natsuki grabs Lu by mistake, vanishes inside an invisibility suit and agrees to fight only once bonus pay is promised.
#12Determined to follow her aunt Rion into the assassin world, shy Akira sews a parachute from fellow JCC applicants' clothes in midair and sees deadly paths that show her how to strike.
#13One of four death row killers smuggled into Japan, Apart slices victims to pieces with metal-cutting wires, wears paper clips in his long bangs and can't stand anything out of order.
#14Living in a patched rooftop tent with his bird Piisuke, the broke sniper Heisuke is hopeless at everything except shooting and comes after Sakamoto's bounty with ricocheting bullets.
#15A masked germaphobe in the JCC transfer exam, Mafuyu fights only with blades hidden in his shoes, mocks Shin as an old man and is set on joining the Order.
#16Fearless and strict about family rules, Aoi is Sakamoto's wife and the reason he gave up life as a hitman, now running their neighborhood shop beside him and raising their daughter Hana.
#17A towering, by-the-book brawler in the Order, Hyo wears brass knuckles and a metal jaw piece and once lunged at Nagumo with a steak knife over dinner.
#18Courteous and businesslike, Kashima is a subordinate of Slur who seizes a research lab, wears a realistic reindeer head as a mask and packs guns and blades into his cyborg body.
#19Obsessed with getting the perfect shot, film director Kanaguri works as a JCC exam proctor, slashes through examinees with a sharpened clapperboard and will wreck a whole airplane for a scene.
#20Locked on the deepest floor of the JAA's jail, the association's secret fortune teller Atari is a pink-haired esper who refuses video games and homemade food because she foresees every outcome.
#21Discovered asleep under newspapers inside the JAA Jail, Tenkyu is a calm, strangely naive archer who hopes to make peace with Slur and wields a compound bow with deadly ease.
#22A high school girl and Sakamoto superfan with long white braids, Nao Toramaru enters the JCC transfer exam midway and turns her gun-axe on Shin once she learns he is a fan too.
#23Amane Yotsumura is a rebellious second-year in the JCC's assassin course who refuses to attend class, keeps everyone at arm's length and fights with a white four-section staff tipped with a thin blade.
#24Kamihate, the Order's shut-in sniper and the finest marksman the JAA has ever had, hides his face even from fellow members and talks by shooting characters on a hiragana chart from afar.

Sakamoto Days follows Taro Sakamoto, a legendary hitman who quit the job after falling in love at first sight with Aoi, married her and now runs a small convenience store. Out of love for his family he follows a strict no-killing rule, so when a billion-yen bounty is placed on his head, he fights off assassins without taking a life, helped by Shin Asakura, a young former hitman who can read minds, and Lu Shaotang, the daughter of a Chinese Triad family.
Sakamoto's Store is a small neighborhood convenience store, and its staff are anything but ordinary. The family and the crew behind the counter: Taro Sakamoto, Shin Asakura, Lu Shaotang, Heisuke Mashimo, Aoi Sakamoto and Hana Sakamoto.

After he retired, Sakamoto put on a lot of weight, so most of the time he is a round, quiet shopkeeper in round glasses. In a hard fight he can burn through his stored calories and turn back into the lean, sharp-featured hitman of his prime for a power boost. The slim form does not last: he usually gains the weight back in about a day.
