The Full Ranking

Igris from Solo Leveling#1
Solo Leveling

Igris

Beru from Solo Leveling#2
Solo Leveling

Beru

General Grade · First seen: Episode 22

Whatever Beru devours surrenders its skills to him, which is how a winged ant built for shredding prey with sharp claws also learned to heal wounds and freeze enemies.

Bellion from Solo Leveling#3
Solo Leveling

Bellion

Grand-Marshal Grade · First seen: Manhwa

Only one shadow outranks Beru and Igris: Bellion, the four-winged Grand Marshal, whose centipede-shaped blade lashes out like a whip or slices like a sword.

Tusk from Solo Leveling#4
Solo Leveling

Tusk

Elite Knight Grade · First seen: Episode 17

Spells, not steel, are Tusk's weapons of choice, whether the orc shaman is burning down hordes with fire hymns or pinning foes in place with gravity.

Iron from Solo Leveling#5
Solo Leveling

Iron

Knight Grade · First seen: Episode 13

Thanks to a war cry that goads enemies into charging him, Iron soaks up attacks meant for others before answering with a battle axe that leaves craters behind.

Tank from Solo Leveling#6
Solo Leveling

Elite Grade · First seen: Episode 14

With a flame-like stripe down his back and an X-shaped chest scar, Tank is a shadow bear as big as his name suggests and just as hard to stop.

Kaisel from Solo Leveling#7
Solo Leveling

Kaisel

Knight Grade · First seen: Episode 20

More mount than fighter, Kaisel carries Jinwoo on trips by air, and one night flight on the black wyvern even set off a monster scare on social media.

Greed from Solo Leveling#8
Solo Leveling

Greed

General Grade · First seen: Manhwa

Humble enough to wait for permission to speak, Greed turns bloodthirsty once fighting starts, his red eyes blazing out of a broken bone mask.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the most popular shadow in Solo Leveling?

Igris from Solo Leveling leads our ranking right now, followed by Beru and Bellion. Vote every day to change the order.

How is the ranking decided?

The order follows the fan interest in each character and your votes. The ranking is updated every month, and the Fan Favorites list changes every day. While the page is new, the KuroKoma team also adds a few votes every day.

Can I buy posters of these characters?

Yes. Every card with a Shop the poster button links to a manga poster of that character in our store.

Which shadow is the strongest in the story?

Bellion is the strongest, since Grand Marshal is the top grade and is reserved for the single most powerful shadow in the army. Beru and Igris come next at Marshal Grade and are close rivals.

What are the shadow grades in Solo Leveling?

From lowest to highest, the grades are Normal, Elite, Knight, Elite Knight, General, Marshal and Grand Marshal, though some translations use Commander for one of the upper steps. Shadows grow stronger by fighting, but moving up a grade takes Jinwoo's approval.

How does an enemy become one of Jinwoo's shadows?

Jinwoo uses Shadow Extraction on a fallen foe, and if it works, the shadow rises as a loyal soldier. He gets only three tries per target, and a target much stronger than him cannot be extracted at all.

Can Jinwoo's shadows be killed?

Not by ordinary means, since a shadow regenerates even after being torn apart as long as Jinwoo has mana to spare. Only beings on the level of the Monarchs can erase one for good.
